Technically another season has the title of “the most wonderful time of the year,” but if you enjoy beer, the case can be made that early February in Arizona should carry the mantle. After all, that is when the state hosts its beer week. For those who don’t know, Arizona Beer Week is a time when the state’s breweries and beer bars produce special beverages as well as host various events.
Best of all, the good times are not limited to one part of the state. All of Arizona will celebrate the liquid magic we call “beer”. Below are a few of the top spots to hit in Tucson.
BeerGeek Bakery at Ten55 Brewing and Sausage House
Beer plus pastries = happiness, right? If you believe this to be true, you will find happiness at Ten55 Brewing and Sausage House, as they are celebrating the early days of beer week with a baked treat and beer pairing that is sure to please anyone who enjoys tasty things.
Best of Baja at Tap & Bottle North
Stop by the North Tucson spot to celebrate Baja’s beer scene. Dragoon Brewing, Button Brew House and Tombstone Brewing Company will be featured, but you can be sure there will be plenty of other outstanding breweries to choose from. As an added bonus there will be prizes to be won via the HOP-opoloy board!
Pima Paws for Life Fundraiser at Catalina Brewing Company
You know what’s awesome? Beer. Also great? Dogs. Put the two together and you have the best day ever? Catalina Brewing Company will find out, as they will have a vast selection of brews, with $1 per beer set to be donated to Pima Paws for Life. There will also be Sonoran dogs, an outdoor paint class and many raffles.
1912 Beer Floats
Beer and ice cream…what could go wrong? Nothing, that’s what. That’s the mindset 1912 is bringing to this event, where they will let you choose from a variety of beers to pair with some sweet ice cream. There will also be kid floats (ie: non-alcoholic), so if you don’t want a beer you don’t have to have any. Supplies are limited, though, so make sure you get there early.
4-10pm: Infusion Night (x4) at Pueblo Vida
Pueblo Vida consistently puts out some of the state’s best beers, and on this day they will play with their creations. How? Infusion. PV will be taking some of their most well-known beers and giving them a delicious twist with additional flavors. Can a great beer be even better? Hit up this event to find out.
Barrio Beer Pairing
Need more than just beer? Check out Barrio Brewing for their beer dinner, which features five different beers each paired with food. You will get an appetizer, salad, soup, entrée and dessert, all with a beer to accompany them. The cost is just $45, and tickets are available at the brewery and online.
