Beer Brewed at Tucson’s Barrio Brewing Wednesday to Be Tapped Ahead of Arizona Beer Week

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Arizona’s craft brewing community is all about coming together for the common good, and that’s exactly what some of the state’s female brewers are doing when they join forces for the second time in two years, and with some tasty results.

“State Bird” is the name of the upcoming, collaborative beer to be released by female brewers from all over the state, and they’re brewing up the double IPA starting at XX p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Tucson’s Barrio Brewing Company. The beer is set for release ahead of next month’s Arizona Beer Week celebration, presented by the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, which involves a plethora of statewide events slated for Feb. 9 – 18, 2017.

This year’s all-female collabrew will again benefit local communities, with proceeds from sales benefitting the Sojourner Center in Phoenix, the Northland Family Help Center in Flagstaff, Wings for Women in Tucson and the Prescott Area Women’s Shelter, in Prescott.

“Craft brewing might be a male-dominated industry at the moment, but there are more and more women finding their footing and developing an interest every day,” said XXXXX, one of the women and brewers taking part in creating State Bird. “We started seeing a lot more interest through events like last year’s “She’s So Hop” collabrew effort, and if we can do something that helps female brewers connect with one another while giving back to some very deserving charities at the same time, so much the better.”

Once tapped, State Bird will be available for sampling at XXXXX. For more about the special events planned for Arizona’s biggest week in beer, visit ArizonaBeerWeek.com. For more on the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, visit ChooseAZBrews.com.
